With the NTA announcing the JEE Main results, eyes are now on JEE Advanced and JoSAA counselling. While JEE Advanced registrations are slated to begin on April 23, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority or JoSAA counselling, held every year for admission to Indian engineering and technical institutes including IITs and NITs is expected to commence June first week. This counselling process is conducted on the basis of JEE Advanced and/or Mains result.

Going by past year trends, JoSAA counselling is likely to start from June 2, 2026, however, the exact date and time is yet to be announced. Once the JEE Advanced exam is over on May 17 and the results are out, the complete schedule and round-wise dates of JoSAA counselling will be updated on the official website at josaa.nic.in.

Students must note that there will be five main rounds in JoSAA counselling. Even after this, if seats remain vacant in any premier engineering institute then CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) will conduct some special extra rounds.

Admission will done in more than 100 institutes through JoSAA Counselling, which includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 1 IIEST, 26 Triple IT, and 40 GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes).
