If students scored low marks in JEE, here is a list of state-based engineering entrance exams – from MHT CET to WBJEE – that they can apply for.

Getting into a good engineering college can be tough, especially with high competition. Every year, lakhs of students appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, but that is not the only exam available for admission to top engineering colleges.
If you scored low marks in JEE, here is a list of engineering entrance exams you can apply for:
WBJEE: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination provides admissions to engineering colleges in the state. This year, the application process for WBJEE is over, and the exam will be conducted on May 24, 2026. Details regarding the exam can be checked on the official website – wbjeeb.nic.in.
OJEE: The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) is held every year in computer-based test mode for BTech admissions in the state. This year, the exam will be held on May, 4, 5 and 7 in multiple shifts. The results will tentatively be out by the first week of June.
COMEDK: The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka conducts the COMEDK UGET 2026 for BTech admissions in the state. The exam will take place on May 9, 2026 for nearly 150 engineering colleges. The computer-based exam will be organised in more than 200 cities at over 400 centres across India. MHT CET: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) cell is held for admissions to engineering admissions in the state. This year, the first session PCM exam took place from April 11 to 19, 2026, and the PCB group exam from April 21 to 26, 2026. The second session PCB group exam is scheduled for May 10 and 11, 2026, while the PCM group exam will be conducted from May 14 to 17, 2026.
AP EAMCET: The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) conducts the AP Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (AP EAPCET). Candidates can check and download this year’s detailed schedule from the official website cets.apsche.ap.gov.in. The AP EAPCET 2026 will be held on May 12, 13, 14, 15 and May 18, 2026.
