The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the UGC-NET June 2026 results for 84 subjects, with 4,241 candidates qualifying for both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor eligibility.

Of the 7,73,806 candidates registered for the 84 subjects, 6,07,151 appeared for the examination. According to the NTA, 45,904 candidates qualified for Assistant Professor and PhD admission, while 97,434 qualified for PhD admission only.

Three Papers To Be Re-Conducted

The NTA will re-conduct the UGC-NET examinations for English, Commerce and Sociology on September 9 and 10, following errors found in the question papers.

“In respect of three subjects, namely English, Commerce and Sociology, NTA shall be re-conducting the examination for these subjects on 09 September 2026 and 10 September 2026,” UGC said in a statment.

An expert committee had flagged factual, typographical, translation and language-related errors in the three papers. The NTA had released the answer key on August 16 and announced the fresh examinations later the same day.

Candidates appearing for the three re-conducted papers will not have to pay any additional examination fee.

Results For Three Subjects Later

The NTA said candidates from English, Commerce and Sociology whose papers are being re-conducted may see an “Invalid Application Number/Password” message if they try to access the UGC-NET June 2026 scorecard.
