The State Bank of India has announced recruitment for 9,766 Junior Associate (Customer Support and Sales) positions, including 7,680 regular positions and 2,086 backlog positions. This is a golden opportunity for those seeking government jobs in the banking sector. Online applications for this recruitment began on August 11 and the deadline for filling the form is August 31. Candidates can apply through the official website, sbi.bank.in.
This recruitment is open to all categories, including General, EWS, OBC, SC, and ST candidates. The minimum age is 20 years and the maximum age is 28 years as of April 1, 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST, and more for PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and other categories as per government rules.
Educational Qualification for SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026
Candidates must have a graduation degree in any subject from a recognised university.
Final-year or final-semester students can also apply, but they must have a degree by December 31, 2026.
Candidates who are already working as SBI Clerk are not eligible to apply. Candidates who have previously resigned from SBI while working as a clerk are also not eligible.
Candidates can apply for only one state or union territory.
According to the notification, candidates should know the local language of the state for which they are applying.
SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection process for candidates will consist of three stages. First, there will be a preliminary examination. Successful candidates will be called for the main examination. Selected candidates will then be required to take a local language test for the respective state/union territory. Candidates who pass the local language test will be selected for final selection. Preliminary exam scores will not be considered for merit. Final merit will be determined based on the main examination.
SBI Clerk Post Salary Details
The starting basic pay for an SBI Clerk is Rs 26,730, which includes two advance increments for graduates. With various allowances added, the gross salary comes to around Rs 45,888. After deductions of approximately Rs 6,359, the net in-hand salary stands at about Rs 39,529. The main allowances include Dearness Allowance (Rs 7,161), House Rent Allowance (Rs 2,862), Transport Allowance (Rs 850), Special Allowance (Rs 7,083), and Special Pay (Rs 1,200).
