OPSC 2024 Postponed: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has postponed the OCS preliminary exam that was scheduled for October 27. The next date for the examination will be notified after a week by the Commission. The urgent decision was taken due to Cyclone Dana. The Commission has asked candidates to keep track of the official website— opsc.gov.in— to know further details.

This year, OPSC OCS aimed to fill 399 vacancies for both groups A and B. The state government examination consists of three stages: Prelims, Mains followed by Interview. Prelims consist of two examinations Paper 1 and 2. The admit cards for the OPSC OCS have not been released yet.

Meanwhile, due to cyclone Dana, Odisha, Special Relief Commissioner DK Singh has directed the School and Mass Education department to close schools in 14 likely affected districts from October 23 to 25 as a precautionary measure. Due to the weekend, now the schools will be open on October 28.

Not only Odisha, but West Bengal and Bengaluru also announced school closures to safeguard the interests of the students. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday announced that the primary and secondary schools in nine districts would remain closed between October 23-26 due to the cyclone.
