The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced 6,777 apprenticeship vacancies. The online application process will begin today, July 20, 2026, and the last date to apply is August 19, 2026. Interested candidates can submit their application by visiting the official website, nfr.indianrailways.gov.in.
According to the official notification, candidates will be selected for apprenticeship posts based on a merit list. Candidates who have passed Class 10 and completed ITI in the relevant trade can apply for the railway apprenticeship programme.
The total 6,777 vacancies are divided among different categories. There are 2,686 posts for General (UR) candidates, 1,832 for OBC candidates, 688 for EWS candidates, 1,056 for SC candidates, and 515 for ST candidates.
North East Frontier Railway Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: To apply, candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognised board with at least 50% marks. They must also have an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from an institute recognised by NCVT or SCVT.
For the posts of Medical Laboratory Technician (Pathology) and Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology), candidates must have passed Class 12 under the 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as subjects. They must have secured at least 50% marks in both Class 10 and Class 12.
Age Limit: The age limit for applicants is between 15 and 24 years as of August 19, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to eligible reserved category candidates according to Railway rules.
North East Frontier Railway Recruitment 2026: Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 100 through the online payment gateway provided on the official website. After completing the online application, candidates will be redirected to the payment page. Once the payment is successful, they can complete the remaining application process and download the form. If there is any issue in downloading the application form due to payment-related problems, candidates can use the “Verify Payment” option to confirm the payment status.
SC, ST, PwBD, EBC, and women candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. Candidates applying under the Economically Backward Class (EBC) category must have an annual family income of less than Rs 50,000 to claim the fee exemption.
The NFR apprenticeship application process begins today, July 20, 2026, and the last date to apply is August 19, 2026.
