The global study abroad landscape has seen significant changes between April 2024 and May 2026. The New Visa Rules 2026 have made financial proof requirements more stringent, with students now required to demonstrate that they can fund their stay without relying on part-time work.

Several countries have increased the minimum funds required for living expenses. English language requirements have also been raised, with higher score expectations in tests such as IELTS and PTE.

Visa officers are now scrutinising more closely whether the chosen course aligns with the student’s academic background and long-term career plans. Any misalignment can result in a refusal.
