NEET UG 2026 result expected to be released soon at neet.nta.nic.in: Here’s all aspirants need to know before results are announced


The National Testing Agency is expected to publish the NEET UG 2026 re-examination results by July 20 after finalising the answer key. Candidates will be able to download their scorecards from the official portal before the Medical Counselling Committee announces the counselling schedule for AIQ, AIIMS, JIPMER and other participating institutions.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to release the re-examination result will be declared by July 20, 2026. While the agency has not announced an exact date, officials have said the evaluation process is being completed on priority to ensure that students receive their results without unnecessary delay. The re-NEET UG examination was conducted on June 21, after the original test held on May 3 was cancelled following allegations of a paper leak. More than 20 lakh candidates had appeared for the cancelled examination.

NTA says academic session will not be delayed

According to a senior NTA official, the agency is working on a “war footing” to complete the result process. Officials have also assured candidates that the delay caused by the re-examination will not affect the commencement of the MBBS academic session.Normally, NEET results are announced around 45 days after the examination. However, since the re-exam was organised within just 37 days of the cancelled test, the agency expects to release the results earlier than the usual timeline.Before declaring the results, NTA will publish the final answer key on the official NEET website. The result will be prepared entirely on the basis of this final answer key.The provisional answer key was released in the last week of June, and candidates were allowed to challenge it until June 28. According to the agency, nearly 10,000 objections were submitted by aspirants.Officials said every challenge is being examined carefully along with the supporting documents before the final answer key is prepared.

NEET UG result 2026: Steps to download scorecards

Candidates can follow these steps to download their NEET UG 2026 scorecard once the result is declared:

  • Go to the official NEET website: neet.nta.nic.in.
  • Click on the ‘NEET UG 2026 Result‘ or ‘Download Scorecard’ link available on the homepage.
  • Enter your Application Number, Password (or Date of Birth, if required), and the Security Pin/Captcha displayed on the screen.
  • Click on the Submit button.
  • Your NEET UG 2026 scorecard will appear on the screen.
  • Download the scorecard and take a printout for future use during the counselling and admission process.

NEET UG 2026: Expected qualifying cutoff

Although the official cutoff will be released along with the result, the expected qualifying range is as follows:

What happens after the result?

Once the results are declared, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will announce the counselling schedule for:

  • 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats
  • AIIMS
  • JIPMER
  • Central universities
  • Deemed universities

State counselling authorities will separately release admission schedules for the remaining 85% state quota seats.
