The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the evaluation of answer sheets for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, with the results expected to be announced shortly, reported ANI. According to official sources, NTA has received more than 10,000 objections to the provisional answer key, and each challenge is being reviewed carefully before the final key is released.

The nationwide re-examination for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 was conducted on June 21 across India and at 14 overseas centres. The provisional answer key was released on June 25 and candidates were allowed to raise objections till June 28.

The test was re-held after the original examination was cancelled following allegations of a paper leak, which is currently under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Several arrests have been made in connection with the case.

According to the NTA, more than 20 lakh candidates appeared for the re-examination at 5,440 centres across the country and 14 centres abroad. The examination was conducted in 13 languages, including Hindi and English.

The agency said the smooth conduct of the examination was made possible through the coordinated efforts of multiple government ministries, departments and institutions.

Special arrangements were made for all candidates, including more than 10,000 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). The NTA also facilitated around 81 candidates with medical conditions, including a student recovering from a road accident and another undergoing chemotherapy, ensuring they were able to take the examination.
