NEET PG 2026: The dates for the NEET PG 2026 exam have been announced. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will conduct it on August 30 in computer-based mode at various exam centres across the country. Online applications began on July 1 and will conclude on July 21, 2026. Registrations for NEET PG can be done by visiting the NBEMS website at natboard.edu.in.
Major Changes In NEET PG 2026
No Exam City Option
Earlier, the exam city was given on “first-come, first-served” basis but this year, that will not be the case. Candidates should note that submitting an application early does not confer any additional or preferential right to be allocated to a particular state, exam city, or exam centre. Candidates must select three states of their choice when filling out the application form. The first choice must be the state indicated in the application for correspondence, while two must be neighboring states.
Exam Pattern Revised
Another notable change announced by NBEMS this year is the reduction in the number of questions. Earlier, the exam consisted of 200 multiple-choice questions but this year it will feature 180 MCQs. The marking scheme remains unchanged.
Aadhaar-based authentication
NBEMS has also incorporated Aadhaar-based authentication and verification into the NEET PG exam this year. Candidates will be required to carefully enter their Aadhaar number wherever required in the application form and ensure that their Aadhaar is unlocked before reporting to the test centre.
