Success Story: A 16-year-old student from Mansa district has emerged as the state topper in the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class XII examinations after securing a perfect score in the science stream. Supneet Kaur, a student of Gurukul Academy Public Senior Secondary School in Ubha village, scored 500 out of 500 marks in the non-medical stream, bringing recognition to both her school and district.
The PSEB Class XII results were declared on Wednesday, with Supneet Kaur securing the first position across Punjab. School authorities said her exceptional performance reflected years of academic consistency and dedication. Teachers described her as a disciplined and hardworking student who had consistently excelled in studies.
Apart from academics, Supneet has also made achievements in sports.
National School Games Medal Winner
According to a report in The Tribune, in addition to topping the board examinations, Supneet previously earned recognition at the national level in fencing. She was a bronze medal winner in the National School Games during the 2024-25 session, highlighting her achievements beyond the classroom as well.
Her success in balancing academics and sports has drawn praise from educators and residents in the district.
Family Expresses Pride Over Achievement
Speaking about her achievement, Supneet’s father Raj Singh said the family was extremely proud of her performance. He shared that Supneet had always been academically strong and had narrowly missed securing a merit position in earlier examinations by only a few marks.
According to family members, Supneet aspires to become a teacher in the future.
Raj Singh himself runs a school in the village, although the institution does not offer science stream education. Supneet’s mother works as an Anganwadi worker. She also has a younger sister and brother.
School Celebrates Double Success
Harpreet Singh, Managing Director of Gurukul Academy Public Senior Secondary School, congratulated Supneet for achieving the top rank in Punjab. He also highlighted another strong performance from the school, stating that student Tanish Jindal secured the fifth position in the state with 496 out of 500 marks in the science stream.
School authorities described the results as a proud moment for the institution and the district, adding that the students’ achievements would inspire others in rural areas to pursue academic excellence.
