ISRO Chairman, IB Director: Educational Qualifications Of Nandan Nilekani-Led Panel To Overhaul NTA Exams
The Centre has constituted a high-powered task force, led by Infosys co-founder and technology expert Nandan Nilekani, to recommend sweeping reforms for examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The panel, which includes a former ISRO chairman and a former Intelligence Bureau director, will work on transforming the National Testing Agency (NTA) into a more secure, transparent and tamper-proof examination body. Nandan Nilekani (Chairperson): The task force is headed by Nandan Nilekani, Infosys co-founder and one of the architects of India’s digital public infrastructure. Nilekani studied at the Bishop Cotton Boys’ School and St. Joseph’s High School Dharwad as well as at Karnataka PU College Dharwad. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. V. Kamakoti: The Director of IIT Madras, V. Kamakoti is a noted computer scientist known for his work in computer architecture, cybersecurity and VLSI systems. He completed BE in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Madras followed by MS (By research) and PhD at Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Madras. S. Somanath: Former ISRO Chairman, S. Somanath is an eminent aerospace engineer who led India’s space agency during landmark missions, including Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1. He completed his schooling at St. Augustine’s High School, Aroor, followed by his Pre-Degree course at Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Thangal Kunju Musaliar College of Engineering, Kollam, and later pursued a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from the IISc Bangalore.
