IAF AFCAT 2: As per the notification, online applications for AFCAT 2 will start from May 20. It will continue till June 19.

The Indian Air Force Common Admission Test has released the AFCAT 2 official notification. As per the notification, online applications for AFCAT 2 will start from May 20. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website afcat.cdac.in. The last date to submit the application form is June 19, 2026.
Through this recruitment, over 300 posts will be filled including a total of 142 officers who will be selected for the Indian Air Force’s Flying and Ground Duty branches.
IAF AFCAT 2 Exam 2026 Educational Qualification
Ground Duty Branch:
– Degree in Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) with at least 60% marks.
– 12th pass with Mathematics and Physics, securing at least 50% marks, or
– 3-year Graduation degree with 60% marks, or
– BE/BTech degree with 60% marks.
IAF AFCAT 2 Exam 2026 Age Limit
The age will be calculated as on July 1, 2027.
– Ground Duty and Non-Technical branches: Minimum age 20 years, maximum age 26 years.
– Flying Branch: Age between 20 to 24 years.
– For candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL issued by DGCA), the upper age limit is relaxable up to 26 years.
IAF AFCAT 2 Exam 2026 Application Fee
– Candidates applying through NCC Special Entry and GATE are exempt from the application fee.
– For all other candidates, the application fee is Rs 550.
IAF AFCAT 2 Exam 2026 Selection Process
The IAF AFCAT 2 Exam 2026 selection process consists of multiple stages, including a Written Examination, followed by the SSB Interview. Candidates who qualify these stages must then undergo Document Verification to confirm their eligibility and credentials. Finally, shortlisted candidates are required to clear the Medical Examination to ensure they meet the medical standards prescribed by the Indian Air Force.
IAF AFCAT 2 Exam 2026 Exam Pattern
The exam carries a maximum of 300 marks and has a duration of two hours. There is negative marking, with one mark deducted for each wrong answer. The subjects included in the exam are General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test.
AFCAT 2 2026: Training After Selection
Training will commence from the first week of July 2027 at Air Force Academy, Dundigal (Hyderabad). The training duration for Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical) Branch is 62 weeks while the training duration for Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch is 50 weeks. At the time of joining, candidates must have a PAN card and an account in the State Bank of India or any other nationalised bank.
