CBSE OSM: Centre forms panel led by Capacity Building Commission chief S. Radha Chauhan to review CBSE on-screen marking procurement.

The central government has constituted a committee to examine the procurement process for CBSE’s on-screen marking services. This committee will be headed by senior IAS officer S. Radha Chauhan, who is the chairperson of the central government’s Capacity Building Commission. The committee will have the authority to seek assistance from officials of other departments, if required, and will submit its report within a month. S. Radha Chauhan was appointed chairperson of the Capacity Building Commission in April 2025.

IAS Officer Of UP Cadre
S. Radha Chauhan is a 1988-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. She retired as Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training on June 30, 2025. In view of her experience and qualifications, the central government appointed her as Chairperson of the Capacity Building Commission in August 2025.
Chauhan is a law graduate and, after joining the IAS, has held several important positions. She served as the Commissioner of Ghaziabad, CEO of the Noida Authority, Deputy CEO of Greater Noida, and Additional Commissioner and District Magistrate of Bulandshahr, Pilibhit, Agra, and Meerut. She also served as Joint Secretary in the Department of School Education and Literacy in the Ministry of Human Resource Development from 2011 to 2015, and later as Chairperson and CEO of the National e-Governance Division (NeGD).
Reports Directly To Prime Minister Modi
As Chairperson of the Capacity Building Commission, S. Radha Chauhan reports directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Commission functions under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister, underscoring its importance.
Husband DGP Of UP
Radha S. Chauhan’s husband, Dr. Devendra Singh Chauhan, is an IPS officer. A 1988-batch IPS officer originally from Maharashtra, he belongs to the UP cadre and has served as Director General of Police (DGP) of the Uttar Pradesh Police. After completing his MBBS, Dr Chauhan cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination and joined the police service.
