Delhi University has completed three regular rounds of undergraduate admissions, but 13,433 UG seats are still vacant. According to the university’s latest spot-round vacancy list, the unfilled seats are spread across 1,160 college-course combinations, offering students another opportunity to seek admission.

B.A. (Hons.) Hindi has the highest number of course-wise vacancies, with 1,455 seats available. B.Com follows with 937 vacant seats, while B.A. (Hons.) Sanskrit has 911. Other courses with significant vacancies include B.Sc. (Prog.) Physical Science with Chemistry, which has 728 seats open, and B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics, with 560 vacancies.

Category-wise, OBC-NCL candidates account for the largest number of vacant seats at 4,133. The list includes 2,476 ST seats, 2,113 unreserved seats, 2,038 SC seats and 1,791 EWS seats. There are also 566 seats for Sikh candidates and 316 for Christian candidates.

Seats Vacant In Hindu College, SRCC

The vacancies extend beyond courses that generally see relatively lower demand. Some of DU’s prominent colleges, including Hindu College, Hansraj College and Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), also have seats available in the spot round.

Hindu College has 29 vacancies across 11 programmes, including Economics, B.Com (Hons), Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and Philosophy.

Hansraj College has 79 vacant seats across 19 programmes. Openings are available in disciplines including Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany and Electronics.

At SRCC, two seats remain vacant in Economics, including one unreserved seat. B.Com (Hons) also has two vacancies, with one seat each available for OBC-NCL and SC candidates.

Some colleges have substantially larger vacancies. Swami Shraddhanand College has 145 vacant seats in B.Com, including 66 OBC-NCL, 34 SC, 34 ST and 11 EWS seats. The Institute of Home Economics has 131 vacant seats in B.Sc. Home Science, while Lady Irwin College has 101 vacancies in the same programme.

Science courses also account for a considerable number of unfilled seats. Shyam Lal College has 112 vacancies in B.Sc. Physical Science with Chemistry, while several other colleges have openings in subjects such as Chemistry, Mathematics and Physical Science.

Vacancies are also available in language and humanities programmes. Kalindi College has 68 vacant seats in Sanskrit and 54 in Hindi. Zakir Husain Delhi College has 27 vacancies in Persian, 27 in Bengali, 32 in Mathematics, 51 in Chemistry and 56 in Physical Science with Chemistry.

DU said the vacancy figures are based on the position as of 1 pm on August 23. The numbers may change as admissions are completed, seats are matched, students withdraw, admissions are cancelled or complaints are addressed.

The university has also clarified that students will not be permitted to withdraw during the spot round. Seat availability will vary depending on the college, programme and candidate category.
