CBSE 12th Supplementary Exam 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will hold the Class 12 supplementary exam today, July 28. The CBSE has described this as another opportunity for students in the compartment category who wish to pass their pending subjects, as well as for those who wish to improve their results in a particular subject.
A total of 1.63 lakh students were placed in the compartment category after the CBSE 12th board results were released. Candidates are advised to reach their exam centres well before the reporting time and strictly follow all instructions provided on their admit cards.
CBSE 12th Supplementary Exam Timings
The exam will be held on a single day, July 28, 2026. Most core academic subjects – such as English Core, Hindi Core, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Political Science, Geography, History, Computer Science, Psychology, Sociology, Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship, Home Science, and Applied Mathematics – will be held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.
According to the official datesheet, exams for several vocational subjects – such as Food Production, Front Office Operations, Banking, Marketing, Healthcare, Insurance, Fashion Studies, and Business Administration – will begin at 10:50 am and end at 1:30 pm. Candidates will also be given 15 minutes to read the question paper before the exam begins.
Documents To Carry
Students should carry the following things to the examination centre:
– Printed CBSE Supplementary Exam Admit Card
– Valid photo identity card (as mentioned on the admit card)
– Transparent stationery pouch
– Blue or black ballpoint pen and other necessary stationery
– Transparent water bottle with no printed label
CBSE has instructed candidates to arrive well in advance of the reporting time to complete the verification process. Before leaving for the exam, students should carefully check the subject, date, exam center, and exam duration listed on their admit card.
Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, and other electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Any prohibited item found in the examination hall may result in action under the Board’s Unfair Means (UFM) rules.
Candidates must maintain discipline inside the examination centre and follow the instructions of the invigilator throughout the examination.
