The University of Delhi has received an impressive response for its undergraduate admissions for the 2026 session, with over 2.73 lakh students registering for admission. The university is offering approximately 71,600 UG seats across 67 colleges and more than 73 academic programmes.

DU conducts the undergraduate admission process through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal. Out of the total registered candidates, 2,18,284 students completed their registration successfully. The data shows that female applicants were more than male applicants, with 1,20,509 women and 97,775 men completing the process.

The second phase of the admission process also witnessed strong participation, as 2,06,835 candidates submitted their preferred programmes and college choices through the CSAS portal.

Admissions for this year will continue to be based on CUET UG 2026 scores. Students can check the detailed guidelines in the official admission brochure available on the university’s admission website.

The admission rules remain largely unchanged. Although the UGC permits students to appear for CUET in subjects they did not study in Class 12, Delhi University has maintained that applicants must select only those CUET subjects that they studied in Class 12. Students who do not follow this requirement may lose their eligibility for admission. The university has also provided specific eligibility and registration guidelines for different categories of applicants.
