Hours after the NEET UG exam fee refund portal was slated to open, several students claim that the link is still not available on the website, leading to confusion among aspirants.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) had earlier announced that the refund portal for NEET UG 2026 candidates would go live on Thursday. Students who had paid examination fees for the cancelled May 3 NEET UG exam were assured a full refund. NTA had stated that the module for sharing bank account details for the refund of examination fees would be made available to candidates by May 21.

However, hours later, several students still claim that the refund link is not available on the website, leading to confusion and frustration among aspirants.

The issue comes in the wake of the NEET UG paper leak controversy, after which the Education Ministry stated that all candidates would receive a complete refund and that the government would bear the expenses for the re-examination.

Many students took to X to express their concerns over the missing portal.

“Sir/Ma’am, you mentioned in the official notice that a portal/module will be provided on your website to update bank account details for NEET UG 2026 fee refund. We are unable to find any such portal or link even today. Kindly guide us where exactly it is available or when it will be activated. Please help thousands of students,” one user posted.

Another student wrote, “NEET refund portal was supposed to launch on May 21st, but it hasn’t opened yet. Why is that?”

“NTA, what happened to the refund of NEET fees? It was supposed to start on May 21,” another user questioned.

The refund amount is expected to be credited back to the same bank account, debit or credit card, or digital wallet used during registration. Candidates who made payments through cyber cafés or third-party accounts may need to coordinate with the account holder to recover the refunded amount. However, students are advised to wait for an official clarification from the NTA regarding such cases.

The refund amounts are based on the category-wise application fee structure:

General Category: Rs 1700

OBC/EWS: Rs 1600

SC/ST/PwD: Rs 1000

The NEET UG 2026 re-examination is scheduled to be conducted on June 21, 2026, from 2 PM to 5:15 PM in pen-and-paper mode.
