The National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to release the UGC NET June 2026 provisional answer key shortly. Once published, candidates will be able to review their responses, compare them with the official answers, and estimate their probable scores. The NTA conducted the UGC NET June 2026 exam in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across various centres in India from June 22 to June 30, 2026. A large number of candidates participated in the examination and are now waiting for the release of the provisional answer key along with their response sheets.
Along with the provisional answer key, the NTA will also release candidates’ recorded response sheets and question papers. This will enable candidates to cross-check their marked answers with the official solutions and calculate an estimated score more accurately.
What is the purpose of the UGC NET exam?
The UGC NET is a national-level eligibility test conducted for candidates aspiring to become Assistant Professors or to receive the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in universities and colleges across India. It is held twice a year across 87 subjects and consists of two papers with a total duration of three hours.

If candidates find any discrepancy in the provisional answer key, they can challenge it through an online objection window provided by the NTA. A non-refundable fee of Rs 200 must be paid for each question challenged. Subject experts then review all objections, and if any are found valid, corrections will be made in the final answer key.
