Pranav developed an early interest in mathematics, technology and problem-solving. His academic achievements include being recognised among the Outstanding Cambridge Learners and receiving a World Topper distinction in IGCSE Mathematics, according to reports. (Image: LinkedIn/Pranav Ilango)

His interests go beyond mathematics. He is passionate about software, artificial intelligence, engineering, entrepreneurship and data science. At Brown, he plans to explore the connection between applied mathematics and public health. His goal is to understand how technology and data can help solve public-health problems, especially in communities that have fewer resources. (Image: brown.edu)

The combination of mathematics and public health could allow him to approach such problems from both sides: developing the analytical tools needed to understand complex systems and applying them to challenges that directly affect people’s lives, the report added. (Image: LinkedIn/Pranav Ilango)

Pranav’s journey also included mentorship and leadership training. He reportedly joined Dexterity Global’s National Scholar Development Programme at the age of 13. The programme helped him develop skills beyond academics, including leadership and problem-solving. Brown was not his only international opportunity. He also received a 100% scholarship offer from The University of Hong Kong. He ultimately chose Brown for his undergraduate studies. (Image: LinkedIn/Pranav Ilango)
