The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday announced the postponement of the CUET-UG examination scheduled for May 28, 2026, following a change in the government holiday notification for Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid).
In an official post on X, the NTA said the tests planned for both shifts on May 28 stand postponed in view of the updated holiday issued by the Government of India. It added that fresh dates for the affected candidates will be shared in due course.
“The examinations scheduled for 28 May 2026 (both shifts) stand postponed — in view of the change in the date of the Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) holiday as per Government of India notification. Revised exam dates for affected candidates will be announced shortly,” the agency said.

The CUET (UG), or Common University Entrance Test, is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the NTA for admission to undergraduate programmes in over 280 universities across India, including central, state, and private institutions.
Along with the announcement, the NTA also shared an official order on X, which cited a Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) memorandum dated May 22, confirming the change in the holiday schedule.
It stated that, in continuation of an earlier public notice dated May 5, the CUET-UG 2026 exams scheduled for May 28 in both shifts now stand postponed.
The order also advised candidates to regularly check the official websites of NTA and CUET for updates. It further provided helpline details for queries, including a contact number and email support.
Candidates have been advised to stay alert for further announcements regarding the updated examination schedule.
