NEET UG 2026 Toppers List Released: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET UG 2026 results, with Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana securing joint All India Rank (AIR) 1. Both candidates scored 715 out of 720 marks, emerging as the highest scorers in this year’s medical entrance examination.
The results were declared on Thursday, paving the way for the counselling and admission process for undergraduate courses in MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other allied medical programmes.
Nearly 20 Lakh Candidates Appeared
According to the NTA, nearly 20 lakh candidates took the NEET UG 2026 examination, which was conducted on June 21. The test was held at 5,440 examination centres spread across 551 cities in India and 14 cities overseas.

The NEET UG 2026 examination was organised at 5,440 test centres spread across 551 cities in India and 14 international locations. Candidates were able to take the exam in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Assamese and Urdu.
According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), women accounted for over 58 per cent of all qualified candidates this year. The agency also noted that the majority of the highest-ranking candidates were between 17 and 19 years old.
Counselling Process To Begin Soon
With the declaration of results, the admission process for medical and allied health science courses is expected to begin as scheduled. The timely announcement will allow counselling authorities to proceed with seat allotment for eligible candidates without delay.
NEET UG is the country’s largest undergraduate medical entrance examination and serves as the gateway for admission to government and private medical, dental and AYUSH colleges across India.
