The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) rank is a merit position assigned to candidates based on their performance in the entrance examination and qualifying Class 12 board exams. For engineering courses, KEA follows a 50:50 weightage formula: 50% weightage is given to KCET scores in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 50% weightage is given to Class 12 marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The marks obtained in the qualifying examination are first normalised to ensure fairness among students from different education boards.
