JEE Advanced 2026 Cut Off: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has announced the JEE Advanced 2026 category-wise cut-off marks along with the results for admission into IITs. The JEE Advanced 2026 result and the final answer key link are now available on the official website at jeeadv.ac.in.
Given the difficulty level of the question paper, cutoffs were expected to fall. Instead, a sharp increase has been recorded. The qualifying aggregate cutoff for the general category, which was 74 in 2025, has risen by 18 points to 92. The overall percentage now stands at 25.56, and the subject-wise cutoff has also gone up by 1 point. In 2026, it is 8 points for the general category, compared to 7 points in 2025.
Although the 2026 cutoff is significantly higher than the 2025 cutoff, it remains lower than the 2024 record. In 2024, the qualifying aggregate percentage was 30.34, with qualifying marks of 109. This was followed by a steep decline in 2025, when the aggregate cutoff dropped to 20.56% (74 points). It has now climbed again to 25.56% (92 points) in 2026.

According to the official notice, candidates in the Common Rank List (CRL) category must secure at least 8 marks in each subject and an aggregate of 92 marks to qualify for the IIT rank list.

JEE Advanced 2026 Result: What’s Next?
Students who have cleared the exam will now proceed to the JoSAA counselling. The process includes seat allocation, document verification and fee payment, etc. If seats remain vacant even after JoSAA counseling, then the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will conduct additional rounds.
JoSAA provides a single online platform for admission to 121 institutes, which include 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, IIEST Shibpur and 40 other GFTIs. Seat allocation is based on JEE Main/Advanced rank and candidate’s choice. Candidates are given the option to accept their seat or choose a better option through freeze, float and slide options.
