The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the schedule for the Chartered Accountants (CA) Foundation and Intermediate examinations for January 2027. The examination dates have been notified under Regulation 22 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.

According to the schedule, the CA Intermediate Group I examinations will be conducted on January 2, 4 and 6, 2027, while the Group II examinations will be held on January 8, 10 and 12, 2027. The CA Foundation examination will be conducted on January 3, 5, 7 and 9, 2027.

ICAI has clarified that there will be no change in the examination schedule if any examination date is declared a public holiday by the Central Government, a State Government or local authorities.

CA Foundation, Intermediate Exam Timings

The CA Foundation and Intermediate examinations will be conducted in the afternoon session, with timings varying depending on the paper.

For the CA Foundation examination, Papers 1 and 2 will be held from 2 PM to 5 PM and will be of three hours’ duration. Papers 3 and 4 will be conducted from 2 PM to 4 PM and will be of two hours’ duration.

All CA Intermediate papers will be held from 2 PM to 5 PM and will be of three hours’ duration.

ICAI said an advance reading time of 15 minutes, from 1:45 PM to 2 PM, will be provided for all papers except Foundation Papers 3 and 4. No advance reading time will be provided for these two Foundation papers.

CA January 2027 Exam Centres

The CA Foundation and Intermediate examinations for January 2027 will be conducted in designated examination cities across India, subject to a sufficient number of candidates opting to appear from each location.

The examinations will be conducted according to the respective syllabi prescribed under the CA scheme notified by the ICAI Council under the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.

Candidates preparing for the January 2027 examinations should regularly check the official ICAI website for further updates regarding the examination application process, exam forms, city-wise centres, admit cards and other instructions.
