Gurugram Tightens Security
The Gurugram district administration has imposed restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to ensure the fair, transparent and peaceful conduct of the examination. The order has been issued amid heightened focus on examination security following the Maharashtra TET 2026 paper leak incident, which resulted in the postponement of the teacher eligibility examination there. To maintain law and order, gatherings of four or more people have been prohibited within a 500-metre radius of examination centres and strong rooms, reported Times Now.
“Gathering of four or more persons, carrying any weapon like Fire Arms, Swords, Barchhas, Kulharis, Jellies, Bhallas, Knives, Lathis, Cycle Chain and other weapons of offence or any other thing which is capable of being used as weapon of offence or is likely to cause obstruction in the maintenance of peace and law & order and it has become necessary to prohibit the carrying of weapons of offence within the area of about 500 meters around the strong room and examination centers in District Gurugram,” reads the official notice.
