From Super 30 To Super Infinity: How Mother’s Papad Fuelled Anand Kumar’s Passion
There was a time when life seemed to be falling apart for Anand Kumar. After losing his father at a young age, the family’s financial condition worsened so much that even daily expenses became difficult to manage. Following his father’s death, Anand Kumar was offered a government job, and many people advised him to accept it for financial stability. But despite the pressure, he held on to his dream of studying and teaching. (Photo credit: Facebook/Anand Kumar)

Anand Kumar recently shared that during those difficult days, it was his mother who gave him the courage to continue dreaming. She told him, “I know how to make papad. Somehow, we will manage at home, but your dream should not remain incomplete.” Her words became a turning point in his life. Anand Kumar decided to let go of the government job and pursue his passion instead — a decision he still credits to his mother’s sacrifice and belief in him. (Photo credit: Facebook/Anand Kumar)

After his father’s death, Anand Kumar took on greater family responsibilities and began selling papad with his mother to support the household. Despite severe financial struggles, he continued studying and working hard. Over time, these hardships became the foundation of his resilience. Through his experiences, Anand Kumar realised that millions of talented children across India are held back not by lack of ability, but by poverty and limited opportunities, an idea that later shaped his life’s mission. Determined to help underprivileged yet talented students, Anand Kumar started Super 30. Under the initiative, 30 economically disadvantaged students were selected every year and provided free coaching, food, and accommodation. Over the years, many Super 30 students secured admission to prestigious institutes like the IITs, bringing national and international recognition to the programme. Anand Kumar was later honoured with the Padma Shri for his contribution to education. (Photo credit: Facebook/Anand Kumar)

Over time, Anand Kumar began thinking beyond Super 30. While the programme transformed many lives, he realised it could only support 30 students each year. He often wondered about the millions of other children who dream of studying but never get the opportunity. With this in mind, he decided to launch a new digital learning platform called ‘Super Infinity’, with the aim of taking quality education to students in every village and corner of the country. According to Anand Kumar, ‘Super Infinity’ is not just another online learning platform, but a mission to make education engaging and accessible. Through the platform, subjects like mathematics and science will be taught using stories, animation, music, and real-life examples to make complex concepts easier to understand. He believes children learn better when difficult subjects are taught in an enjoyable way. Anand Kumar also shared that students will be able to access ‘Super Infinity’ online from June 12. Anand Kumar’s journey is not just the story of a teacher’s success, but also of a mother’s sacrifice and unwavering faith. The mother who sold papads to support her son’s dreams ultimately helped change the lives of thousands of underprivileged students. Even today, whenever Anand Kumar reflects on his journey, he speaks first about his mother’s struggles, strength, and trust in him. (Photo credit: Facebook/Anand Kumar)
