The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the post-result process for Class 10 students in 2026. Students will first get access to their evaluated answer books first before deciding whether to seek further review. Here are 10 important things every CBSE Class 10 student should know about the post-result process.
1. Students must first obtain a scanned copy of their evaluated answer book. Only after reviewing it can they apply for verification of issues observed and, if required, request re-evaluation of specific answers. This replaces the earlier process where verification came first.
2. Students who are not satisfied with their marks can apply online to receive scanned copies of their evaluated answer books. These copies allow them to see exactly how their answers were assessed before deciding on any further action.
3. After examining the scanned answer book, students can apply for verification if they notice issues such as unevaluated answers or questions, totalling errors, marks not carried forward correctly, and other procedural discrepancies mentioned by CBSE. The verification stage focuses on identifying genuine evaluation-related issues rather than requesting a fresh assessment of the entire paper.
4. Next, students can request re-evaluation only after completing the previous steps. Re-evaluation is limited to specific answers or questions identified by the student and is not a complete rechecking of the answer book.
5. Applications for scanned copies, verification and re-evaluation must be submitted through the CBSE online portal within the specified schedule. CBSE does not accept offline applications for these facilities.
6. The post-result facilities are offered in phases, and each stage has separate application dates. Missing one deadline means students cannot move to the next stage, so keeping track of the schedule is essential.
7. CBSE charges a separate fee for each service—obtaining scanned answer books, verification of issues, and re-evaluation. Students should check the official notification for the applicable fee before applying.
8. Students should remember that after verification or re-evaluation, their marks are not guaranteed to increase. Depending on the outcome, marks may increase, decrease, or remain the same, and the revised marks become final.
9. Applications not submitted as per instructions given by the CBSE will be summarily rejected without any correspondence with the candidate. Only a single application for each step per candidate will be accepted in the online process.
10. Fee will be refunded in case of increase in marks after verification and/or re-evaluation in the same account from which it has been paid to the CBSE.
By allowing students to inspect their evaluated answer books first, CBSE aims to reduce unnecessary applications and ensure that requests for verification or re-evaluation are based on actual observations rather than assumptions.
