The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has published the Sample Question Papers (SQPs) and marking schemes for Classes 10 and 12 for the 2027 board exam. Students preparing for the upcoming class 10 and 12 exams can access the subject-wise papers and marking schemes through the CBSE Academic website.

The sample papers are designed to give students a clearer picture of the structure of the board exams, including the types of questions, section-wise distribution of marks, overall paper pattern and the expected approach to answering questions.

CBSE has released SQPs for a wide range of subjects across Classes 10 and 12. The sample papers also contain details such as general examination instructions, maximum marks and the distribution of marks across different sections. Most SQPs are available in English and Hindi, while language-specific papers are provided in the respective languages.

“The Board issues Sample Question Papers (SQPs) and Marking Schemes (MS) for classes X and XII to provide a broad template and serve as a guide for ensuring uniformity and proper coverage of the curricula. Further, SQPs give a broad understanding of the question paper design and need to be used for classroom teaching and learning activities with an overall focus on promoting the application of concepts in real-life,” states the official notice.

The marking schemes are particularly useful for understanding how answers are evaluated and which points are expected for specific questions. Students can compare their answers with the official marking guidelines to identify gaps in their preparation and focus on topics that require additional revision.

Students can access the SQPs and marking schemes by following these steps:

Step 1 – Visit the official CBSE Academic website.

Step 2 – Open the section for Sample Question Papers for the 2027 session.

Step 3 – Select Class 10 or Class 12.

Step 4 – Choose the relevant subject.

Step 5 – Download the sample question paper and corresponding marking scheme.

CBSE is expected to release the tentative timetable for the board exams by this month. Last year too, the Board issued the date sheet in September.
