Students are still facing issues with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 Board Exam 2026 results and the on-screen marking (OSM) system, and now the re-evaluation process is yet to open. Students who wanted to apply for verification or re-evaluation of their answer sheets were waiting for June 1, but since morning, the CBSE portal has been showing ‘Under Maintenance’. Due to this, students are unable to submit their applications.

According to sources, the evaluation portal is expected to be functional by noon, as security audits are currently in progress; however, it the website is yet to open. CBSE is also expected to issue an update on the microblogging platform X.

The Board said the move is aimed at ensuring a transparent and glitch-free process for students who wish to apply for verification of marks or re-evaluation of their answer books. The initiative is part of CBSE’s continued efforts to uphold the highest standards and protocols in the evaluation system.

In an official notice, CBSE stated, “In order to ensure a transparent and glitch-free process for verification and re-evaluation of answer books of students who intend to submit their applications on the Post-Result Activities portal, it has been decided that the designated portal will now be operational from 1st June 2026. This is to ensure the highest standards and protocols of evaluation. Students who may have queries may reach out to the CBSE Tele-Counseling Helpline- 1800 11 8004 and email- resultcbse2026@cbseshiksha.in.”

Many CBSE Class 12 students have reported slow loading speeds, login failures, and pages crashing, especially during peak hours soon after the Board opened the portal for accessing scanned copies. The multi-step process — verification of marks, obtaining photocopies of answer sheets, and then re-evaluation — was also not clearly understood by all students, leaving many unsure about the correct sequence and deadlines. In addition, students alleged failed transactions, delayed confirmations, and instances of money being deducted without successful submission of their applications.

CBSE earlier stated that vulnerabilities identified in the OnMark portal operated by its service provider have been contained, following concerns raised publicly about potential security weaknesses in the system.

In a statement posted on X, CBSE said it has been closely monitoring the reported vulnerabilities and has deployed an expert team of cybersecurity professionals over the past few days. The board added that specialists from various government agencies and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have been working to strengthen the platform’s security architecture and migrate it to a more secure setup.
