In Uttar Pradesh, schools and colleges in Meerut and Ghaziabad have been affected by closures linked to the Kanwar Yatra. Authorities had ordered educational institutions in the two districts to remain closed through August 12 amid arrangements for the annual pilgrimage and expected movement of devotees.
