Bihar’s minister of education, Mithilesh Tiwari is scheduled to hold a major meeting today regarding TRE 4. All senior officials, including the ACS of the Education Department, will attend this meeting, which will be held after noon. The agenda includes teacher recruitment, the delay in the TRE 4 advertisement, and the BPSC’s new proposal.

Student protests related to the PT and Mains exams will also be reviewed. It is reported that the BPSC has sent a proposal to the General Administration Department on the PT-Mains system for upcoming examinations, including teacher recruitment, which has intensified dissatisfaction among candidates.

What Has Happened So Far?

On Friday, thousands of BPSC teacher aspirants marching from Patna College towards the BPSC office were stopped near JP Golambar by heavy police deployment. The police carried out a fierce lathi charge on the candidates, who were demanding the release of the recruitment advertisement, leaving the stretch from JP Golambar to Dakbangla Square littered with scattered shoes, slippers, and blood stains. Around 5,000 youths had gathered, accusing the government of deceiving them with empty promises.

What Are The Aspirants Demanding?

The Bihar Public Service Commission’s proposed new pattern for the TRE-4 teacher recruitment exam is facing strong opposition. Most candidates are against the strict three-tier structure of prelims, mains, and interview. They believe that imposing such a rigorous process for a post with a salary of just Rs 40,000 is an unreasonable burden. Many candidates, who have mortgaged their land to pay for coaching, say they have reached the limit of their patience. Although the newly appointed Education Minister, Mithilesh Tiwari, has assured them that a solution will be found, anger among candidates on the ground remains high.
