The National Testing Agency (NTA) has shifted its Delhi office from Okhla to Minto Road as part of efforts to strengthen security around the country’s major entrance and eligibility examinations. The agency’s new office is located on the fifth floor of the Government of India Press Building on Minto Road, New Delhi, reported Times of India.

The relocation follows directions from the Education Ministry to strengthen the security of NTA’s examination-related operations. The agency conducts several major examinations, including NEET-UG, JEE Main and UGC-NET.

The office relocation is part of a wider exercise to strengthen the NTA’s systems for managing confidential examination-related work. The agency is putting in place tighter controls over areas where sensitive material and operations are handled.

CISF personnel will be deployed at the new premises as part of the enhanced security arrangements. The NTA is also reworking its Confidential Operations (CONOPS) framework, with separate rooms planned for sensitive activities and access limited to authorised personnel.

For certain confidential operations, the agency will use air-gapped computer systems that are not connected to external networks. This is intended to provide an additional layer of protection against unauthorised access to sensitive information.

Staff working on confidential exam activities will also be required to follow stricter device-use protocols. Electronic devices, including mobile phones, may have to be deposited before entering restricted areas.

Alongside these measures, the Education Ministry has asked the NTA to carry out a detailed review of its exam processes. The agency will assess existing systems, identify gaps and submit a report detailing the corrective steps taken.

The changes are aimed at improving security at both the physical and technological levels, particularly in areas involving confidential examination material and other sensitive operations.

The new office will serve as the base for the revised security and confidential-operations framework as the NTA works to strengthen safeguards around national-level examinations.
