Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has studied at some of India’s and the world’s well-known educational institutions. His academic journey took him from schools in India to universities in the United States and the United Kingdom before he entered public life.

Rahul Gandhi was born on June 19, 1970, to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi. He began his schooling at St. Columba’s School in Delhi before joining The Doon School in Dehradun.

For higher studies, Rahul Gandhi enrolled at St. Stephen’s College in Delhi in 1989. After completing his first year, he moved to the United States and joined Harvard University.

However, after his father’s assassination in 1991, he shifted to Rollins College in Florida due to security reasons. Several media reports suggest he used the name Raul Vinci during this period.

Rahul Gandhi graduated from Rollins College in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He later pursued higher education in the United Kingdom and earned an MPhil in Development Studies from Trinity College, University of Cambridge, in 1995.

Before entering politics, Rahul Gandhi worked with the international management consulting firm Monitor Group in London. He later returned to India and was involved in setting up a technology outsourcing company, Backops Services Pvt Ltd, where he served as one of the directors.

Rahul Gandhi formally entered electoral politics in 2004, contesting the Lok Sabha election from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. He won the seat and has remained an active figure in national politics ever since. He currently serves as the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and represents the Rae Bareli parliamentary constituency.
