‘Expected 595, Got 60’: NEET 2026 Candidate Claims OMR Was Swapped, Spent Rs 27,800 Challenging Answers
A NEET UG 2026 candidate has taken to X with a startling claim, alleging that the OMR sheet uploaded by the National Testing Agency (NTA) does not belong to her. The post has now gone viral, with thousands debating whether it points to a possible administrative error or an unverified allegation.
“I am Ibtesham Nasar, a NEET UG 2026 candidate.Based on my responses in the Re NEET 2026, I was expecting around 595 marks. However, the result declared my score to be around 60. When NTA uploaded my OMR, I was shocked. The OMR didn’t match the answers I marked during the exam.”
According to the student, the discrepancies became immediately apparent after comparing the uploaded OMR with the responses she remembered marking during the exam.
“The uploaded OMR contains a completely different bubble pattern from what I actually filled. Even more concerning, I had intentionally left 12 questions unanswered, but the uploaded OMR shows every question bubbled.”
She further claimed that she carefully compared the uploaded OMR with the question paper on which she had marked her responses and found that “a large number of answers did not match.”
The student says she challenged nearly every allegedly incorrect response, paying Rs 27,800 in challenge fees.
“I challenged almost every incorrect response in the uploaded OMR, spending ₹27,800 in challenge fees (₹200 per question). Despite this, I have received no response from NTA.”
She also claimed to have emailed the NTA with her admit card and screenshots of the uploaded OMR, but said she has not received any reply so far.
Calling for a fair investigation, she wrote, “I respectfully request NTA to:
• Verify my original physical OMR sheet.
• Investigate whether there was any OMR mismatch or exchange.
• Ensure that the correct answer sheet is evaluated.”
The aspirant added that she has been preparing for NEET since completing Class 12 in 2022 and said years of hard work should not be overshadowed by what she believes could be an administrative error.
In a follow-up post after her thread crossed over 231,000 views, she appealed for media attention.
“My previous post regarding the serious discrepancy in my NEET UG 2026 OMR has crossed 231K views. Thank you to everyone who has supported and shared my concern.
I humbly request the media to look into this matter. If this can happen to one student, it may happen to others as well. I am only asking for a fair, transparent, and independent investigation into whether my original OMR was correctly scanned and evaluated.
I have preserved all the relevant documents and am ready to cooperate with any inquiry.
Kindly help amplify my voice.”

Internet Reacts To NEET Student’s Claims
The claims have sparked a fierce debate online. While several users urged the NTA to investigate, others questioned the authenticity of the allegation. One user asked, “Are your name signature and thumb print credentials at the bottom yours or of other person?” Another wrote, “If this is true someone else who was expecting only 60 marks must have secured 595 marks. Difficult to accept.”
Some demanded more evidence before drawing conclusions. “Upload your carbon copy for transparency,” one comment read. Others questioned the timing, with one user asking, “NTA had opened a window to chk and match and challenge, which closed on 15th july, did u do that.”
One skeptical comment read, “parents ka naam btao and then upload the non edited omr with the parents name let us know if u are actually telling the truth or just engagement farming.”
Another user alleged, “It looks AI generated OMR sheet.” However, several users rallied behind the student. “If this is true, entire country should be on the streets demanding justice,” wrote one.
Another tagged the testing agency directly, saying, “@NTA_Exams kindly look into this matter, it’s not acceptable to do such level of mockery with the aggrieved students. Bring it into your attention & clarification is needed about.”
A NEET UG 2026 candidate claims her uploaded OMR sheet was swapped, resulting in a score of 60 instead of an expected 595. She has emailed the NTA with her admit card and OMR screenshots but has not received a reply.
