Over 1.6 lakh CBSE class 12 students had applied for the verification and re-evaluation of over 3.8 lakh answer sheets. However, the board has still not issued an official timeline. The re-evaluation portal closed on June 7, however, with no update on the result announcement date, students are left in a limbo.
Just a week earlier, the Supreme Court had pulled up the CBSE over delays in pending Class 12 results and directed the board to present a concrete plan by Friday to resolve the issue. The case arose from a petition filed by a student based in Saudi Arabia, whose delayed result was impacting university admissions.
During the hearing, the court observed that the board may need to “burn the midnight oil” to address students’ concerns, including those in similar situations, on priority.
While the case primarily focused on overseas students and pending improvement exams, the court’s remarks underscored a broader issue: delays in results can disrupt admissions and derail academic plans.
That concern is now being felt by students across the country awaiting re-evaluation outcomes.
Several students and parents have also alleged their colleges admissions have been cancelled due to delay in result announcement. While some institutions are allowing students to submit updated Class 12 marksheets at a later stage, others are proceeding with counselling and seat allocation as per their existing timelines. This has left many students in a difficult position.
#CBSEWhat do you expect these children to do? They are frustrated, anxious and deeply disappointed.Colleges and universities are demanding updated revaluation scores, but who will tell them that #CBSE has not even announced a confirmed timeline for releasing them?

On the other hand, over 6.7 lakh students who appeared for the class 10 second board examinations are awaiting their results. Of these, around 5.25 lakh students registered for improvement exams, while more than 85,000 applied under the compartment category. Such students are awaiting admission to Class 11.
