Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has issued a recruitment notification for multiple Group A, B and C posts, inviting applications for regular appointments across different departments.According to Advertisement No. 1/2026, the institute is looking to fill 80 vacancies in areas including engineering, administration, medical services, technical support and laboratory assistance.The recruitment includes senior positions such as Superintending Engineer, Deputy Registrar, Executive Engineer and Assistant Registrar, along with medical, counselling and hospitality roles. Technical posts also form a major part of the vacancies, including Junior Technical Superintendent, Junior Technician and Junior Assistant across various departments. Selected candidates will receive pay and allowances as per the 7th Central Pay Commission. Applications will be accepted online only through the official IIT Kanpur recruitment portal. The last date to apply is July 3, 2026.

Who can apply

Most Group A positions require a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience, while technical posts require engineering degrees, diplomas or science qualifications along with hands-on experience.For Group B and C posts, candidates with bachelor’s degrees, diplomas or relevant technical qualifications can apply, depending on the role.Age limits are set at up to 45 years for Group A posts, 35 years for Group B posts and 30 years for Group C posts, with relaxations for reserved categories as per government rules.
