Indian Army Agniveer Salary 2026: Check Monthly In-Hand Amount, Seva Nidhi Package, Other Perks
For many young Indians, becoming an Agniveer in the Indian Army is both a matter of pride and a financially rewarding opportunity. Under the Agnipath scheme, selected candidates serve for four years and receive a fixed annual package that increases each year. In addition to the monthly salary, a portion of the pay is deposited into a savings corpus, with the government contributing an equal amount. First Year Salary: ₹30,000 Per Month
In the first year, an Agniveer receives a monthly package of ₹30,000. After a contribution of ₹9,000 to the Agniveer Corpus Fund, the in-hand salary comes to ₹21,000. The Government of India contributes an additional ₹9,000 every month to the same fund. (Image: Instagram/@target_olympics_game)

Second Year Salary: ₹33,000 Per Month

Third Year Salary: ₹36,500 Per Month
In the third year, Agniveers receive ₹36,500 per month. After the corpus contribution of ₹10,950, the in-hand salary is approximately ₹25,550. The government again contributes an equal amount to the savings fund. (Image: News18 Hindi)

Fourth Year Salary: ₹40,000 Per Month
In the final year, the monthly package reaches ₹40,000. After setting aside ₹12,000 for the corpus fund, the in-hand salary becomes ₹28,000. The government also deposits ₹12,000 each month. (File photo)

At the end of four years, Agniveers receive a one-time Seva Nidhi package of around ₹10.04 lakh, excluding interest. This amount is completely tax-free and includes the individual’s contributions, the government’s matching share and the interest earned during the service period. (File photo)

In addition to salary, Agniveers receive a non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 lakh and may be eligible for risk and hardship allowances depending on their posting.
