What is the JEE Main Percentile?

The percentile score reflects how a candidate has performed relative to others. It shows the percentage of students who scored equal to or less than a particular candidate. Unlike raw marks, the percentile is not the actual score, but a normalised score calculated separately for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

The NTA calculates the percentile up to seven decimal places to eliminate ties and ensure a fair ranking process across different shifts and sessions. The highest possible percentile is 100.

What Is the JEE Main Rank?

The JEE Main rank indicates a candidate’s actual position among all candidates who appeared for the examination. It is derived from the percentile scores and raw marks. A lower rank means a better performance, and this rank is used directly for seat allocation and admissions.
