Registration for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026 exam, conducted for admission to IITs has begun today, April 23. As per the official notice, IIT Roorkee will conduct the exam on May 17, 2026. Candidates appearing for the exam can check the notice on the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. The last date to apply is May 2.
According to the schedule, the JEE Advanced 2026 admit cards will be issued on May 11. The provisional answer key will be released on May 25, and the last date to raise objections is May 26. Results will be declared on June 1, and JoSAA counselling will begin from June 2. The AAT results will be announced on June 7.
JEE Advanced 2026: Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for JEE Advanced, candidates must be born on or after 1 October 2001. However, SC, ST, and PwD candidates receive a relaxation of five years, so they must be born on or after 1 October 1996.
Candidates must be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (across all categories) in the BE/BTech paper of JEE Main 2026 to appear for JEE Advanced 2026. They must also have appeared in the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2025 or 2026, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
JEE Advanced 2026: How to Apply?
Step 1: Visit the official website at jeeadv.ac.in
Step 2: Access the ‘JEE Advanced registration portal’ and log in using the JEE (Main) 2026 application number and password.
Step 3: Fill out the application form and upload all the required documents.
Step 4: Make a payment of the application fee and apply.
Step 5: Download the form and take a printout of it.
JEE Advanced 2026: Registration Fee
The JEE Advanced application fee differs by category. Female candidates (from all categories), as well as SC, ST, and PwD candidates, must pay Rs 1600. All other candidates are required to pay Rs 3200. Foreign nationals, including PIO/OCI card holders, must pay USD 90 if residing in SAARC countries and USD 180 if residing in non-SAARC countries.
JEE Advanced 2026: Exam Pattern
JEE Advanced will be held online in a computer-based format. The exam will be available in both English and Hindi. It consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2, and students are required to appear for both. The question paper covers three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The duration of the JEE Advanced exam is three hours, with a total of 75 questions. Candidates will receive four marks for each correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
