The Maharashtra government formed a five-member inquiry commission following protests by MPSC aspirants over alleged irregularities and question paper leaks in the recruitment examinations. The panel has now begun its work and invited complaints and supporting information related to nine MPSC examinations.
Food and Drug Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe has been appointed secretary of the commission. Besides retired Justice Dilip Bhosale, who is heading the panel, its members include retired Justice P. D. Naik, former secretary Ganesh Patil and Inspector General of Police Lakshmi Gautam.
The commission has asked candidates, examinees and other concerned individuals to submit affidavits detailing any complaints or information they may have about the nine examinations. The deadline for submitting these statements is November 16.
The examinations under the commission’s scrutiny include the Drug Inspector Examination Group-B 2025, Maharashtra Group-B Non-Gazetted Services Combined Preliminary and Main Examinations 2025, and Maharashtra Group-C Services Combined Preliminary and Main Examinations 2025.
The panel will also examine complaints related to the Maharashtra Agricultural Services Main Examination 2024, Food and Drug Administration Service Main Examination 2023, Maharashtra Civil Engineering Services Main Examination 2025 and Maharashtra Electrical Engineering Services Main Examination 2025.
The state government constituted the commission after MPSC aspirants staged a protest at S. M. Joshi Bridge in Pune. The students were demanding an investigation into alleged question paper leaks and irregularities across MPSC examinations, along with the resignation of commission president Vivek Bhimanwar.
Following the protest, Bhimanwar reportedly went on leave until the inquiry commission submits its report.
The commission is expected to examine the complaints and information submitted by candidates as part of its investigation into the alleged irregularities.
