JPSC JET 2024 Exam Cancelled: The Jharkhand Public Service Commission conducted the JET 2024 exam on Sunday, but the examination had to be cancelled at two centres. The cancellation was not due to a paper leak or any other mismanagement, but because of issues with the printing of the question papers. According to reports, the Jharkhand Eligibility Test was cancelled at Sardar Patel Public School in Bokaro district and ASTVS District CM School of Excellence in Ranchi.
Officials said the exams affected were Education (code-009) and Odia (code-023), respectively. The commission stated in a press release, “The decision to cancel the exams for these two subjects at two centres was taken due to the shortage of question papers and difficulties in reading them.”
What Happened At The Exam Centre?
Thousands of candidates suffered due to the Jharkhand Public Service Commission’s negligence. Candidates at the examination centres were left waiting for their question papers, which led to anger and uproar.
What Did JPSC Say?
The Jharkhand Public Service Commission issued a notice stating that it had received reports of unavailability and illegible question papers at two examination centres. Consequently, the Education and Odia examinations had to be cancelled. Information regarding the rescheduled examinations for both subjects will be provided separately.
What Is The JET Exam?
The Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JET) is conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission to determine the eligibility of candidates for the posts of Assistant Professor or Lecturer in colleges and universities. It is similar to the UGC NET.
Candidates with a postgraduate degree and at least 55 per cent marks are eligible to apply. However, reserved category candidates are given relaxation in the minimum marks requirement. The subject chosen for the second paper of JET must be the same as the candidate’s postgraduate subject.
