Two Class 12 students have approached the Delhi High Court through Advocate Vineet Jindal after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) allegedly failed to declare their examination results despite the passage of considerable time.

According to Advocate Vineet Jindal, the students have exhausted the available administrative remedies before seeking judicial intervention. The petition seeks directions to CBSE to declare their pending Class 12 results.

Commenting on the issue in a post on X on Sunday, July 19, Jindal said it was “shocking” that some students were still awaiting their results even as admissions to universities and other higher educational institutions are already underway.

He stated that the delay has placed the students’ academic future and career prospects at risk, as they are unable to participate fully in ongoing admission processes without their Class 12 results.

Jindal further contended that the continued non-declaration of the results raises serious concerns and suggests that there may have been lapses in the process. He remarked that students should not be compelled to approach constitutional courts merely to obtain their examination results.

The petition before the Delhi High Court seeks appropriate directions to CBSE for the declaration of the students’ results on an immediate basis.

The matter is listed for hearing before the Delhi High Court today, July 20.

The continued failure of CBSE to declare these results raises serious concerns and indicates that something may have gone wrong in the process…” posted Jindal.

Over the last few months, CBSE’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for Class 12 evaluation has been at the centre of significant controversy. After the Class 12 results were declared in May, many students took to social media alleging missing or blurred scanned pages, discrepancies in evaluation, and in some cases, being shown answer scripts that did not belong to them during the answer-book copy process. Thereafter, the Board opened its rechecking process. While most of the students have received their answer sheets, a few students claim they are yet to get their revised marks.
