Haryana News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India’s first hydrogen-powered train on July 17 during his visit to Haryana. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the newly built Amrit Bharat railway stations at Jind and Narwana and lay the foundation stone for several development projects across the state. According to the schedule, PM Modi is expected to arrive in Jind at 10 am.
The hydrogen train will run between Jind and Sonipat, marking a major milestone in India’s push towards cleaner and greener transportation. BJP National Secretary Om Prakash Dhankar said the launch is not just about introducing a new train but represents a changing India, adding that the country is set to become the third nation in the world to operate hydrogen-powered trains. He said the initiative reflects the Prime Minister’s vision of reducing dependence on diesel and petrol while promoting cleaner fuels such as hydrogen and biofuels.
Railway To Organise Competitions In Schools
To mark the occasion, Northern Railway is organising educational programmes involving school students. The Railway administration has written to the Jind District Education Officer, requesting that drawing and essay competitions be organised in five schools. Students of Classes 7 and 8 will participate in the competitions.
The themes for the competitions are “What Would My City’s Railway Station Look Like?” and “What Would I Do To Build A Developed India?” The winning students will be honoured by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the inauguration ceremony.
50 Students To Experience Hydrogen Train Ride
According to a report in Jagran, following the inauguration, 50 school students will be selected to travel on the hydrogen train from Jind to Sonipat. They will return to Jind on the same train after completing the journey. A team of teachers will accompany the students to ensure their safety throughout the trip.
Jind Block Education Officer Saroj Shyokand confirmed that the department has received the official communication from the Railways regarding the competitions and student selection process.
BJP Leaders Busy Preparing For Rally
Preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit are in full swing, with BJP ministers, MLAs and party workers holding regular meetings to coordinate arrangements. BJP Haryana President Dr Archana Gupta has been reviewing preparations with party leaders and officials, while Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Bhatia has been appointed as the rally coordinator.
On behalf of the Haryana government, Minister Krishna Bedi and Assembly Deputy Speaker Dr Krishna Midha are overseeing the preparations. Organisers have also decided to make the public rally eco-friendly, in line with the clean energy theme of the hydrogen train launch.
The launch of India’s first hydrogen train is expected to be a significant step in the country’s transition towards sustainable rail transport while showcasing the government’s efforts to modernise railway infrastructure and reduce carbon emissions.
