When determination is strong, no obstacle in the world can prevent a person from achieving their dreams. Laishram Abungsana Singh, a resident of Imphal West, Manipur, has demonstrated exactly that. Once working as a daily wage labourer carrying bricks to support his family, Laishram has proved that with perseverance and dedication, one can achieve any goal they set their eyes on. He has now achieved his dream of becoming a constable in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
Coming from a financially challenged background, Laishram took up daily wage work to help his family make ends meet. However, even while struggling through difficult circumstances, he never abandoned his goal of securing a government job. Along with his work, he continued his studies and focused on physical training, eventually clearing the SSC GD Constable recruitment examination.
To strengthen his preparation, Laishram trained at the Assam Rifles Skill Development Center in Imphal. The centre, a joint initiative of the Assam Rifles and the Homeland Institute of Security Management, provides specialised training to youth aspiring for careers in security forces. The disciplined environment, regular physical training, and expert guidance played a crucial role in enhancing his confidence and readiness.
After successfully clearing the SSC GD Constable examination, Laishram is currently undergoing training at RTC Barwaha in Madhya Pradesh. For him, this achievement represents more than just a job—it marks the beginning of a new chapter after years of struggle and hard work. His family is equally proud of his remarkable journey.
The initiative by the Assam Rifles and the Homeland Institute has so far helped more than 600 youth secure employment, achieving a 100% placement record. The programme prepares young candidates for opportunities in the armed forces, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and the private sector.
Laishram’s journey stands as an inspiring example of how determination, proper guidance, and consistent effort can help individuals overcome challenges and turn their dreams into reality.
