The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced major changes to make NEET UG re-exam student-friendly. The exam scheduled for June 21, 2026, will no longer follow the old pattern and will now be conducted under revised rules. Extra Time: The NTA has increased the total duration of the exam to 195 minutes (3 hours 15 minutes). Furthermore, the question booklet will now have more space for rough work to accommodate extensive calculations in Physics and Chemistry. (File Photo)

As per the new NTA notification, candidates will now have a total of 195 minutes to attempt the paper and complete all formalities. The exam will still begin at 2 pm, but instead of ending at 5 pm, it will continue for an extra 15 minutes, until 5:15 pm. This additional 15 minutes will help candidates complete the paper without rushing. (File Photo)

Earlier, crucial administrative procedures such as signing attendance sheets, giving thumb impressions, and undergoing security checks used to consume a considerable portion of the exam time. With the new provision, candidates should no longer feel that these official processes are eating into their writing time. They will be able to utilise the allotted duration more effectively and with less mental stress. (File Photo)

Extra Space For Rough Work: The NTA has also increased the space available for rough work in the question paper booklet. Now, candidates can carry out calculations and jot down important notes more comfortably and clearly. (File Photo)
