The CBSE is expected to announce the Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026 results soon. Although the board has not officially declared the result date and time, the announcement is likely to be made anytime soon. Once released, students will be able to check their marks on the board’s official website – cbse.gov.in – as well as on DigiLocker and UMANG apps.
This year, CBSE introduced a two-board exam system for Class 10 for the first time. The second board exam was held between May 15 and May 21, 2026. The system is designed to give students another opportunity to improve their scores within the same academic session. It also enables compartment students to appear for the exam without waiting for the next year.
Nearly 6.7 lakh applications were received for the second board exam. Most of these were from students aiming to improve their scores from the first board exam. Around 5.25 lakh students registered for the improvement exam, while over 85,000 applied for the compartment exam. This reflects a positive response from students to CBSE’s new two-exam system.
Science was the most popular subject in the second board exam, followed by Mathematics and Social Science. Many students also opted for regional and foreign languages. However, comparatively fewer students chose specialised subjects such as Artificial Intelligence, Tourism, Music, and Painting.
After the results are declared, students can check their marks by visiting the official CBSE result websites: cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and cbse.gov.in. Digital marksheets will also be available on DigiLocker and the UMANG app. Students can download these marksheets and use them for academic purposes.
To access their results, students should have their roll number, school number, and admit card ID ready. Some platforms may also ask for their date of birth and a security PIN.
CBSE Class 10 Second Board Result 2026: How To Check
Step 1: Visit the official CBSE result website – cbse.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on the link “Class 10 Second Board Result 2026″.
Step 3: Enter your roll number, school number, and admit card ID.
Step 4: Click on the submit button.
Step 5: Your provisional marksheet will be displayed on the screen.
Step 6: Download and save it for future reference.
The provisional marksheet released online will include important details such as the student’s name, parents’ names, school name, roll number, date of birth, subject-wise marks, grade, total marks, and pass/fail status.
How Many Marks Are Required To Pass?
CBSE follows a nine-point grading system for Class 10, with grades ranging from A1 to D2, while an E grade means the student must retake the exam. A minimum of 33 percent marks is required to pass any subject. Most theory papers carry 80 marks, so students need to score around 27 or more and also fulfil other evaluation criteria.
The online results will be provisional. Original marksheets and certificates will later be distributed through the respective schools. Students should carefully verify all details on their digital marksheets. In case of any discrepancies, they must immediately contact their school or CBSE.
